Answer by Moxie1313
What medicines do you want to know about?? If you go to a retail pharmacy (CVS, Walgreens) when it’s kind of slow, they might be willing to go over the different prices for you.
Answer by Daniel-Kenneth U
Stay away from medicines (drugs) as they are ALL toxic (poison). They have to be in order to be called a drug.

Health Sciences Library staff, L to R: Laura Windsor, Cheryl Ewing, Connie Flores, Anne Goss.
Part of 1999 project to document the various library departments for Alden Library’s 30th anniversary. Each department had a group photo and description in the library newsletter.
Below is from the library’s newsletter Intercom:
Health Sciences Library
The 3rd floor of Alden Library was almost empty 22 years ago, except for a few tables and chairs, when the decision was made to create a Health Sciences Library. The original intention was to bring together those materials that would serve staff and students in the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine and Health and Human Services, under the direction of a Health Sciences Librarian. Anne Goss was hired as the Division Head in November of 1977 (later promoted to Assistant Dean and Director of the Health Sciences Library). In December 1977 Bonnie Lackey was hired full-time as support staff, and a health sciences reference librarian was hired in March 1978.
As division head one of Anne’s first tasks was to transfer all books and journals in the ‘R’ (Medicine) classification to Health Sciences, as well as other materials from the general stacks which were related to Health Sciences. Shortly after, health related materials from Reference were moved down from the fourth floor, followed by the government documents from the fifth floor.
The Health Sciences Library was the first department to have on-line access to a database, implemented by Anne Goss in November 1978, with the installation of MEDLINE. This database is still widely used today. Other more recent changes include a consumer health collection, a multitude of electronic resources, and a table of contents service.
To further assist HSL patrons from the College of Osteopathic Medicine, a daily delivery service between the HSL, COM’s Learning Resource Center and O’Bleness Hospital is provided for books, search results, photocopies and OhioLINK materials.
The HSL has signed a contract with the National Library of Medicine to provide support as a resource library for southeastern Ohio. In addition, the Library also aids local doctors and hospitals with medical research and information regarding patient care and treatment in unusual cases. Cheryl Ewing was promoted to Assistant Librarian in 1995, after completing the Master of Library and Information Science degree; Laura Windsor was appointed to the position of Health Sciences Reference Librarian in 1998.
The HSL is looking forward to the new millenium and continued advances in the field of health sciences in the years to come.
